A public lecture by Prof. Dr. Perry Schmidt- Leukel, Professor and Head of the department of Religious Studies and
Intercultural Theology, University of
Munster, Germany, on the topic "Christian and Pluralistic Theologies of Religion" will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 4:30 P.M. in the Tagore Hall of the UTC.
Prof. Dr. Perry Schmidt-Leukel, taught at the
Universities of Munich, Innsbruck and Salzburg. From
2000-2009 he was Professor of Religious Studies and Systematic Theology at the University of Glasgow. His main interests are
in the fields of inter-faith relations, Buddhist-Christian dialogue,
pluralist theologies of religions and most recently inter-faith theology. He published more than 20 books in different languages. Among his
more recent publications are Understanding Buddhism (2006); Buddhist Attitudes
to Other Religions (2008); Transformation by Integration (2009) and Buddhism and
Religious Diversity (2012).
The lecture will be moderated by the principal Rev. Dr. John Samuel Raj.
