New dining hall open

The new dining hall of the UTC Centenary Mahatma Gandhi Hostel opened yesterday with prayer followed by dinner at 8 P.M. Mrs. Lydia Joshua , the principal of the Bishop Cotton Girls' school, Bangalore and Rev. Victor Joshua opened the kitchen and unveiled the tablet mentioning the help from Bishop Cotton Girls' school, Bangalore.

The dining hall has a modern kitchen and space for all hostel students to sit and dine at the same time. The kitchen will make use of technology to reduce cooking gas consumption.

The Bishop Cotton Girls' school donated money for the construction of the kitchen. The demolition of the former hostel due to the weakness in the structure had lead to the students having to use a very small place for dining. With the opening of the new dining hall, this problem is now solved.

The mess co-ordinators for this month are Mr. Andrews Christopher and Mr. Vinod Shemron. Yesterday night's dinner was for the whole community in UTC.
